REGISTERED NURSES

  1. Develop a plan of care, in liason with the doctor according to the clients healthcare needs
  2. Monitor the patients hemodynamic status, which are temperature, blood pressure, oxygen concentration, pulse.
  3. Manage patients medication by administering prescribed medication.
  4. Pain management.
  5. Provision of wound care services.
  6. Intravenous administration of fluids and medication.
  7. Giving injectables on correct routes of administration.
  8. Colostomy care.
  9. Peg feeding, nasogastric feeding and intubation, catheter care.
  10. Communicate with the doctor oftenly on change of status of patient.
  11. Administer CPR SERVICES.

CREDENTIALS

  1. Diploma from an accredited institution.
  2. Bachelors of science in nursing from an accredited institution.
  3. Basic life support certification.
  • KRN

  • BSCN
  • License from the Nursing Council of Kenya

NURSING AIDES / PATIENT ATTENDANT

  1. Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, ambulation, feeding.
  2. Accompany patient to doctors visit.
  3. Support and companionship.
  4. Communicate in change of status of patient.

CREDENTIALS

  • Three months training from a home health agency.
  • KCSE certification

PHYSICAL THERAPIST / PHYSIO THERAPIST

  1. Assist with therapeutic exercises to strengthen her muscles and joints.
  2. Assist patient with special devices and equipment such as wheelchair.
  3. Physical rehabilitation and prevention of injury.
  4. Identify conditions that require referral to specialist.

NB : Orthopaedic patients, trauma patients, obese patients, bed ridden

CREDENTIALS

  • Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • License from the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Is therapy that enables patients of all ages to find ways to perfume tasks easily. From fine motor skills, gross motor skills, feeding therapy, self Care skills and visual motor skills

Also those who have an impairment of body structure or function owing to a health condition, or who are restricted in their participation or who are socially excluded owing to their membership of social or cultural minority groups.

  1. Empowers patient in practicing self care.
  2. Modifies the patient environment to provide safety.
  3. Assist patients with special equipment
  4. Teaches energy conservation techniques in COPD patients.

  • Physical dysfunction e.g. Hand injuries, Stroke, Post Burns Complications, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Spinal Cord injuries, Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Gullain Barre’s Syndrome, Diabetes, Fractures, Tendon Injuries, Cumulative Traumatic Disorders, Congenital Deformities, Vesico – Vaginal Fistula (VVF), Acquired Brachial plexus injury, Shoulder hand syndrome, neurological disorders, Cardiac rehabilitation e.t.c

CREDENTIALS

  1. Diploma from an accredited institution.
  2. License from Kenya Occupational Therapist Association.

SPEECH THERAPIST

  1. Helps client develop verbal and non verbal communication.
  2. Educates families and caregivers about strategies to exercise on patient.
  3. Helps patient with swallowing difficulties to modify diets,and learn safe swallowing strategies.

CREDENTIALS

  • Masters in speech pathology from a recognized institution
